A new Goodwill store is coming to Woodbridge Township, NJ. For those who don’t know what Goodwill is, it is an American nonprofit organization that was started in Boston, MA, in the year 1902.  It provides job training, employment placement services, and many community-based programs for people with barriers to getting a job. It is also a thrift store company where you can donate gently used clothes, toys, books, electronics, and more. Then they will resell them for discounted prices.   

As of 2022, there are 42 locations in New York and New Jersey, along with 4,000 more across the US. They are also in many other countries, like Canada, Brazil, and South Korea. This new Goodwill store will be located at the Woodbridge Crossing Strip Mall, which is near Woodbridge Center Mall. This strip mall has other stores and entertainment like Altitude Trampoline Park, Burlington Coat Factory, and Big Lots.

Now, you may be wondering what the new Goodwill store will be replacing. The answer: the old Party City, which closed after Halloween. Many other stores have left that strip mall, including Circuit City and Modell’s Sporting Goods, but Party City was the most recent of the bunch to leave.

The new Goodwill store will be approximately 10,000 square feet, with 6,000 of it devoted to the sales floor. The grand opening will most likely be around March. Hopefully, Goodwill will do great in Woodbridge!
