Why is the McDonald’s ice cream machine always Mc-Broken?

Doesn’t it seem like the McDonald’s ice cream machines are always broken? Truth is, aren’t REALLY broken.

According to multiple commenters on Reddit, it takes 4 hours to clean and sanitize itself. There is actually a 10 percent chance that it is really broken. Every 14 days McDonald’s cleans their ice cream machine.

Also, there have been a number of cases linked to Listeria getting into the inner workings of the ice cream machines, making people sick.

Fun fact: there is actually a website mcbroken.com, that tells you which locations are currently broken. (At the time of publishing, 12% were broken!)
