The Women’s National Soccer Team is Taking on the “She Believes” Cup

On February 1, 2021, in Chicago, the U.S. Women’s National team named the 23 player tournament roster for the 2021 SheBelieves Cup.

The U.S. women’s team welcomed a new head coach named Vlatko Andonvski. Coach Andovski is replacing previous coach Jill Ellis, who retired after coaching the women’s team for five years.

The SheBelieves Cup will run February 18 through February 24 and occur at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The featured teams playing in this tournament are the USA, Brazil, Canada, and Argentina. The tournament will have a limit of no more than 4,000 ticketed fans due to Covid-19.

The 23 picked rostered players to include; 17 current players of the USWNT, six players currently playing in Europe, and coach Andonvksi called up three non-roster players.
Captains of the USA national soccer team are; Becky Sauerbrunn, a defender, and Carli Lloyd, a midfielder.

USWNT are the reigning champions of this tournament. On March 11, 2020, the USA women beat Japan with a 3-1 victory in Frisco, Texas. They are three-time overall champions of the SheBelieves Cup.
