How Art Has Evolved Through the Years
Among the year’s art has been a popular way of expressing either your emotions, passions, and even skills, but it also plays a big part in history.
During ancient times, people used art for decor, showing themselves as a highly respected individual, or even to convey a story. The famous painting from Emmanuel Leutze for example, Washington Crossing Delaware, is a way of commemorating George Washington’s efforts in leading the Continental Army across the Delaware River.
Art can come in many forms, like music, poems, photography, and choreography as well. It is not only drawings or paintings, but art is a person’s creativity.
A famous quote from Picasso states, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” Meaning people are never bad at art, or how the saying goes ‘you can never make mistakes in art’. But, maintaining that creative, childlike mindset is the difficult part.
Some art can be more than what meets the eye. For instance, abstract art, existing in thought or as an idea but not having physical or concrete existence, like one of Picasso’s famous pieces, the weeping woman, has many shapes and sizes but still depicts a woman crying.
When we see art through history, most paintings have similar concepts, mostly the techniques and style changed. If we look at the topic of fan art, most people wouldn’t draw abstractly for a cartoon character they’d want to recreate. Now, people make their art the same as people did in the past, but with different techniques and styles.
The topic of art can vary from abstract to realistic, but then again, the concept is generally the same, and art has played a large part in history and even today. Art will continue to be around for generations.
