As everyone knows, 2024 was a big year for VR (virtual reality). We got the meta ray bans, meta quest 3, 3s, apple vision pro, and all the new games.
A lot of these were mixed reality. I personally have a meta quest 3, but let’s talk about all of the options and the best to get. The prices of each are mentioned in the bullets-
- Meta quest 3- $500
- Meta quest 3s- $300
- Apple vision pro- $3500
- Meta Ray-Bans- $300
The ray-bans are not going to be in as they are sleek, and not great in performance. You can record and maybe have a couple apps, but that’s it. No games or anything.
Let’s continue with the vision pros. They are very, very expensive, and I personally think it’s a scam. If you’re a gamer, don’t even look at them. Here’s why. The performance is not good for games. They don’t have games or lots of apps in general. If it’s for work, I still don’t think it’s good as it is too expensive. I get they are trying to be innovative, but you’re better off just using a laptop.
As for the quest 3’s, lets compare the 3 and the 3s. The 3s is almost half the price, but has less performance. But if you’re a gamer, get the 3 or 3s. Try to get the 3 but if you’re on a budget you can get the 3s, as you still keep some features.
Some good meta games are- population 1, gorilla tag, Asgards wrath 2, steam vr(PCVR, or require a pc connected), rec room, vr chat, horizon worlds, and way more!
